BUSINESS ANALYST (R&D)

We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Business Analyst (R&D) for our corporate office in Atlanta, GA. (NOTE - local candidates only, no relocation provided)

PRINCIPLE PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for the timely analysis and implementation of IT Research and Development projects as defined by iHT Process Management Teams. This position is responsible for analysis, functional design, testing support, documentation and training for assigned projects. The BA will also act as Project Manager for small - medium sized projects (< 6 months in duration.)

Supports the business team in defining and deploying software development projects and system enhancements.
  • Works with business team to understand issues and needs and determine technical solutions with focus on long-term benefit
  • Provides ideas, input and delivery support for process and technology improvement opportunities for our business teams
  • Coordinates User Acceptance Testing efforts for R&D projects and enhancements
  • Clearly communicates and supports organizational change efforts for solutions delivered
  • Quickly and effectively addresses application issues and internal client requests via standard processes and mechanisms
Supports the technical team in designing and implementing software development projects and system enhancements.
  • Performs impact analysis and deliver clear and comprehensive requirements documentation and project deliverables
  • Supports the design process for software solutions and support developers in documenting and communicating results
  • Works with developers and testers to thoroughly test solutions and limit production application and data issues
Delivers software projects and deliverables efficiently and on-time.
  • Completes personal deliverables efficiently and on-time
  • Coordinates development team in delivery of incremental application enhancements efficiently within agreed upon time-frames
  • Estimates level of effort and timing effectively
  • Manages work-plans and coordinates R&D efforts to deliver projects up to 6 months in duration
Focuses on customer experience and service for internal and external customers.
  • Builds and extend internal client relationships with our business teams
  • Seeks and apply feedback from internal customers
  • Distributes application and process knowledge and mentor team members on areas of expertise

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High level of proficiency with MS office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Project)
  • Internal and external client relationship management and facilitation skills
  • Strong listening, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to learn iHT's capabilities, requirements, limitations and internal support applications to improve operational efficiency through better business processes
  • Basic SQL development skills
  • Ability to read and understand a data model. Strong understanding of logical data modeling concepts.
  • Ability to facilitate detailed data discussions on technical scenarios and determine the best fit software solution
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear business communications and technical specifications (will request examples)
  • Ability to clearly articulate and resolve issues: situation, issue, resolution options, recommendation
  • Ability to strike a good balance between technology and business needs
  • Highly organized and ably to manage and prioritize many tasks
  • Four year college degree
  • PMP Certification (preferred)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 4+ years of experience as a Business/Systems Analyst with application development and systems integration projects
  • 1+ years of software implementation project management
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in an IT Business Analyst role
  • Health insurance experience and basic claims administration and business process understanding (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of SDLC Methodology
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating requirements gathering sessions or JAD sessions
  • Experience evaluating and prioritizing tasks and projects based on business drivers
  • Project Management certification (preferred)
  • Software Testing experience (preferred)
  • Software Development experience (preferred)
