Reports Developer / Analyst (Inpatient)

We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Business Objects Reports Developer - Analyst for our inpatient line of business for our corporate office in Atlanta, GA.

The Inpatient Reports Developer/Analyst's primary role is to design, develop and deploy standard and ad-hoc reports to support iHT's Inpatient line of business department. The objective is to deliver business intelligence solutions to our internal customers, which enable operational improvements to our Inpatient product development and Inpatient product delivery teams. Reports will be primarily delivered using Business Objects (BO) and Crystal Reports technologies. This role will include gathering requirements, report design, BO metadata management, BO/Crystal report development, user support for BO reports, BO Training, and other development tasks for other software projects will also be assigned.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Gather/review business requirements and design optimal reporting solutions
Develop, enhance and maintain Business Objects and Crystal Reports to meet specified business requirements
Perform and document unit testing for all new and modified reports
Determine and perform enhancements to reporting views and Business Objects metadata layer (Universes) as required to support reporting requirements
Identify opportunities for enhancements to the Data Warehouse, Oracle views, and SQL Server tables
Support Testing team in developing test plans for reports
Deploy BO and Crystal reports and/or universes following standard release schedules and procedures
Assist in closing out Business Objects related tickets from our Issue Tracking System in a timely manner
Provide support for end user issues on BO and Crystal Reports.

OTHER RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES:

Consult and assist business community and IT business analysts in refining requirements and optimizing reporting solutions
Support and deliver end-user training for running and manipulating standard BO Reports
Develop SQL views and/or PL/SQL code to meet complex report requests.
Maintain BO Central Management Console with respect to security, users, and report deployment
Assist BO Server Administrators in identifying potential patches, fix packs, and any other server related upgrades

REQUIREMENTS:

Understanding of health insurance information, and claim payment processes
Knowledge of Business Objects XI 3.1 - Webi, Rich Client, and Deski report development (BO administration a plus)
Knowledge of Crystal Reports XI development
Knowledge of Xcelsius, Live Office, and Life Cycle Manager a plus
Solid understanding of relational data structures and relationships
Solid understanding of SQL coding concepts
Experience in Performance Tuning and working with the optimization of query plans, a plus
Understanding of unit and system testing methods

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree
2+ years developing SQL and/or reporting solutions
1+ year using Business Objects or Crystal Reports
Progressing SQL development skills (PL/SQL a plus)
Technology solutions delivery involving health insurance claims information
Strong analytical and problem solving ability
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively
